Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be home when you cook?

No! Most of my clients are out of the home, working or doing whatever they love while I am in their home cooking and cleaning. You are welcome to be home and visit the kitchen as often as you’d like.

What does an average menu look like?

2 breakfast dishes, 2 lunch dishes, 1 snack and 3 dinner options, with multiple servings of each dish to cover the average sized family. Your menu is tailored to your specific needs and desires. You will receive an email after service with reheating and storage instructions, along with a list of ingredients.

How long does your service take to complete?

The average menu takes 6 hours including shopping, travel, cooking and clean-up time. A common schedule is 8:30am - 2:30pm. Special requests or additional dishes will take more time. Menu creation and communication times are free for all clients.

What happens when we go out of town?

I expect you’ll travel at some point throughout the year. Please alert me of any travel as soon as possible. Since I do offer a weekly service, your particular day of the week is blocked out for you for the foreseeable future. I do not take any other cooking opportunities on those days. For travel lasting 7 days (1 week), where 1 service will be missed, there is no charge. For travels more than 7 days (or where a second week of service would be skipped), and you are expecting service to resume as usual upon your return, there are 3 options. Option 1: a $350 maintenance per week, starting at week 2, until service resumes. Option 2: I can do a complete pantry, cupboard and refrigerator clean out and kitchen deep clean. Option 3: You may gift cooking services to a family member or friend. The food would be prepared in your home and picked up by the recipient on their own time. Options 2 and 3 are most popular.

Why do you need my credit card information?

No more worrying about remembering to settle invoices or watch for emails during your busy week. My process involves gathering your credit card details through a secure form, allowing me to make secure payments for your groceries at the store and for my services through Stripe. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for invoicing or reimbursement, ensuring the week’s transactions are swiftly settled, allowing you to plan your coming week without the burden of unpaid invoices. Your credit card statement will reflect separate entries for grocery and service charges. You’ll also receive a paper receipt from the grocery store and an electronic receipt via email from Stripe for services rendered.

Do you do dinner parties or cooking classes?

Yes! While Nopal is a weekly meal prep service first and foremost, I do service small dinner parties and teach bespoke cooking classes when my schedule allows. Be in touch for availability, and to create a menu for a special occasion or a custom cooking class!
